One FCPA desk for the full commercial life of your business — accounting, taxation, commercialisation, branding, management, and trademark registration.
Your tax, your structure, your brand, and your IP protection, joined up. No more juggling three suppliers who don't talk to each other.
No lock-in. No sales funnel. Either we're a fit, or we'll point you at someone better.
If you recognise yourself in one of these, we already speak your language. If not, we'll tell you straight on the Fit Call.
You built the business and still run it. Revenue is real, but tax feels punishing, the structure was set up in a hurry, and you're not sure what it's actually worth.
The founder wants out in a few years. Next gen is either ready, half-ready, or not interested. The structure, the debt, and the emotions all need untangling — cleanly.
Your brand, product name, franchise system or software is getting real traction — and getting copied. You need one desk that gets the tax and the trademark work done.
Each item below is an outcome — not a product, not a subscription, not a piece of software.
Taxation
The honest, lowest tax position across your business, your family group and your super. Fix the structure where it costs you. Deal with ATO queries so you don’t have to.
Accounting
Monthly or quarterly accounts that hold up to a banker, a buyer or the ATO. BAS on time. Financial statements that say something, not just balance.
Commercialisation
Value it. Package it. Structure for sale, a staged family handover or an earn-out — years before you need it. That is when the money is made.
Branding
Choose brand, product and franchise names that can actually be registered. Joined up with the trademark work — no money wasted on names you can’t own.
Trademark Registration
Prepare and lodge applications with IP Australia. Manage your portfolio across classes and jurisdictions. Handle renewals. Coordinate with trade-marks attorneys where formal representation is required.
Management
Plain-English numbers that show where the money is actually made. Cash flow that doesn’t surprise you. A simple, repeatable reporting rhythm.
Graham Chee is the principal and founder of Local Knowledge — an FCPA-led practice that brings institutional-grade compliance, investment-structure and intellectual-property experience directly to owner-operated SMEs and founder-led businesses. Graham's earlier career spans Goldman Sachs, BNP Investment Management and Merrill Lynch. He holds an Australian Financial Services Licence through Global Mutual Funds and has been recognised as a finalist in the Australian Accounting Awards every year from 2019 to 2025.
A twenty-year engagement with MyMoney Pty Ltd spanning trademark registration (classes 35 and 36), two successful oppositions against conflicting marks, and a commercial coexistence settlement with an international applicant — all on the public IP Australia register.
In 2015 a Fortune-500 global corporate filed a removal-for-non-use application against our long-term client's Class 36 Australian trademark INVESTOR VIEW (TM 812479). We coordinated the opposition-to-removal within the statutory timeframes. The applicant withdrew; the mark was retained, renewed and later commercialised through further assignments.
In 2018 a Fortune-500 global corporate opposed our long-term client's Qoney trademark (TM 1870584, classes 9, 35, 36 and 42). The opponent pursued three grounds — sections 42(b), 44 and 60 of the Trade Marks Act 1995 (Cth), including the reputation ground. The Trade Marks Office decided the matter on the written record and found for our client on every ground. The registration proceeded.
Tell us the business, the shape of the problem, and the deadline. If we're the right fit, we'll say so. If we're not, we'll tell you where to look. No funnel.
