Graham Chee is the principal and founder of Local Knowledge — an FCPA-led practice that brings institutional-grade compliance, investment-structure and intellectual-property experience directly to owner-operated SMEs and founder-led businesses. Graham's earlier career spans Goldman Sachs, BNP Investment Management and Merrill Lynch. He holds an Australian Financial Services Licence through Global Mutual Funds and has been recognised as a finalist in the Australian Accounting Awards every year from 2019 to 2025.

Senior Accountant

Established the Australian organisational structure required for membership of the Sydney Futures Exchange — covering the finance and accounting, compliance and dealing functions. Reviewed and prepared the trading profit-and-loss, the risk-management reporting and the mark-to-market of portfolios.

BNP Investment Management
Chief Financial Officer & Operations Officer

Responsible for compliance, operations, finance, information technology and legal across the investment operation. Advised institutional clients on investment structures, and managed the finance, legal and operational activities spanning a suite of managed funds and individual client mandates.

Merrill Lynch
Vice President — Sales and Marketing

Regional marketing for offshore managed investments — advising on, and preparing, asset structures across shares, managed funds, derivatives, property and cash. Established the wealth-management strategy for superannuation and launched a superannuation master trust and wrap account. Built a suite of US mutual-fund structures in Australia, including the legal, operational and compliance work required by the regulator and the prospectus regime. Authored the service manual and the policies and procedures for asset-management operations — compliance, daily unit pricing, custody, responsible-entity requirements and risk management. Also led sales alliances and product management for the associated securities dealer, including the application for an investor-directed portfolio-service licence and the day-to-day running of the managed-funds supermarket.
